On Wednesday, 1 July 2009, the Bavarian Ministry of State invited those 50 enterprises to the Munich Residence (“Residenz”) that have proven to be particularly strong-growing and were able to increase their number of employees and sales higher than average in recent years.
Mr. Martin Zeil, Bavarian State Minister for Economy, Infrastructure, Traffic and Technology, opened the award ceremony with his speech on the economic policy of the Bavarian State Government. In the future, Zeil pointed out, the Bavarian State Government wanted to continuously focus on maintaining and providing the respective conditions that ensure a maximum development of the economic strength of medium-sized, craft and service entrepreneurs as well as in independent professions. He explained that especially in difficult economic times, such achievements gained an essential exemplary and motivational function for medium-sized enterprises and founders of new businesses in our country and could encourage them to offensively face current challenges.

FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH has nearly doubled its number of employees during the last three years. Between 2007 and 2008, the number of staff was increased by 30%. Currently, the monthly average of employees taken on by FIS GmbH amounts to five. It is not without good reason that FIS GmbH together with its subsidiary FIS-ASP GmbH is counted among the fastest-growing IT service providers in Germany and is the leading SAP system house for the technical wholesale. Along with its growing staff, FIS GmbH enjoys a steep growth curve in its sales, which have increased by 45.0 % between 2007 and 2008. The total annual sales achieved by FIS GmbH in 2008 amounts to almost 35 million Euro.
These positive figures were reason enough for the “IHK Unterfranken“ (Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Lower Franconia) to recommend FIS for the selection procedure of ”BAYERNS BEST 50”. In fact, the SAP system house was chosen from several hundred applications and Ralf Broschulat, member of the management board of Ernst and Young, awarded the “BAYERN’S BEST 50” prize to Gert Lang, managing director of FIS.
“BAYERNS BEST 50“ were determined by the accounting firm Ernst & Young AG in 2009 according to the Birch index, whose main criteria are growths in sales and employees.
