Nowadays, customers use online marketplaces much more frequently than search engines to obtain product information. As a result, companies are faced with the challenge of establishing a quick and efficient sales process. Re-IN has been operating various online shops in the fields of consumer electronics, domestic appliances, model making and technology since 2008. RE-IN is already successfully represented on over 15 marketplaces with these online shops. For expanding its marketplace business and opening up a new market segment, e-commerce specialist RE-IN decided to use FIS/TradeFlex once more in order to distribute further products via specialist trade partner Toolineo.
Easy and seamless implementation into the SAP environment
FIS/TradeFlex by FIS offers a cloud-based middleware which enables the connection of RE-IN’s SAP system to Toolineo. Here, FIS/TradeFlex acts as an interface between marketplace and SAP system and controls all occurring sales processes. From A as in article selection to P as in payment and returns: Processes are completely automated due to APIs, which means that purchase orders, quotations, prices and availabilities are synchronized automatically and in real time. As RE-IN used the FIS/TradeFlex solution, inhouse-developments were not required for possible interfaces during marketplace connection.
“With FIS/TradeFlex, we have found a solution that was very easy to implement in our SAP environment and that supports us exactly to the extent that we need to further expand our presence in marketplaces,” says Karoline Leonhardt, Team Leader Analytics & Projects at RE-INvent Retail GmbH.
There was also a clear advantage for Toolineo: “We are pleased to have found two strong merchants with very well-functioning processes for Toolineo in our cooperation with RE-IN and FIS. In the future, this can easily be multiplied by using FIS/TradeFlex. As a result, the product range for our craft customers is optimized and the merchants’ sales volumes are increased,” adds Hendrik Sassmann, CEO at Toolineo.
