Intralogistics under SAP S/4HANA with SAP Stock Room Management

FAQ on SAP LES/WM

SAP LES/WM or SAP WM is an integrated software solution in SAP ECC mapping all processes along the SAP warehouse logistics supply chain from inbound delivery and stockholding to shipping. However, SAP WM has no longer been further developed since 2003 and the rights of use under SAP S/4HANA will expire by 2025/12/31 and under SAP ECC by 2027/12/31. SAP customers will then have the option of using Stock Room Management in SAP S/4HANA.

  • Full integration in SAP ECC for consistent document flows
  • Integration scenarios when switching to SAP S/4HANA or SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM)
  • Individual developments and specific process mappings adapt the system to your warehouse requirements
  • Field-tested additional functions ready to be used immediately (e.g. for mobile warehouse processes) complement the conventional SAP WM standard version

SAP LES/WM includes some functions in the following areas:

  • Goods receipt: inbound delivery and putaway
  • Stockholding: warehouse and inventory management
  • Goods issue: from picking and packing to outbound delivery
  • FIS/smw (small and medium-sized warehouses) is used as a field-tested and ready-to-use SAP LES/WM optimization. Existing WM processes can be extended without any modification. This FIS optimization ensures efficient and convenient working with SAP WM.

SAP WM might be sufficient for simple, manual warehouses with SAP ECC; however, it has not been further developed since 2003 any longer. SAP EWM is the strategic successor of SAP WM with an extended and scalable functional scope.
