What is FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack?
FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack is a collection of preconfigured extensions that can seamlessly be integrated into SAP EWM. It includes additional data fields, optimized process logics, predefined variants and layouts as well as functions for accelerating central warehouse processes.
The extension is designed in such a way that companies can have access to well-tried EWM functions without comprehensive in-house developments.
At relevant points, FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack amends SAP EWM by further data which is not available in the SAP standard version. This data helps warehouse staff to categorize operations more quickly and minimize queries, such as
FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack provides preconfigured layouts, predefined variants as well as a clearer overview of important key figures. As a result, utilization, open warehouse orders or stock information can be evaluated more quickly without having to make manual adjustments.
How can processes be accelerated through FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack?
The function package optimizes numerous warehouse process flows. These include amongst others:
Minimization of walking routes and optimized use of resources
Selection of appropriate mobile printers for each work center, device or activity type
Support for automated selection of optimal packaging material incl. validation for reducing incorrect postings
Extension of layout and nodes for displaying the serial numbers via the warehouse management monitor as well as an additional field in the transactions for the storage bin display. If several serial numbers are available, this will be marked with an asterisk.
If an employee logs on in the radio frequency environment and wants to have displayed a warehouse order by means of a queue, they will be assigned a warehouse order by the system that has to be processed. It is useful in some cases to choose between warehouse orders open for processing, e.g. replenishment. This feature enables the employee to determine the sequence themselves. Here, only small warehouse orders are displayed, i.e. only warehouse orders with a warehouse task to keep it ergonomically and avoid long scrolling.
What benefits are provided by FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack?
The functions of FIS/Warehouse Feature Pack reduce processing time, avoid errors and lower process costs considerably. Further benefits:
Faster process runs through automated or simplified processes
Reduction of manual entries and, consequently, lower error rates
Direct access to additional information accelerating decisions
Shorter walking routes through optimized routing
Efficient packing through automated packaging material proposals
Higher flexibility when controlling warehouse tasks and mobile terminals
