ERLUS AG looks back on more than 180 years of company history and stands for reliably high product quality “Made in Germany”. The first brickyard was founded in Ergoldsbach in 1842. Currently, the company employs 570 persons at its locations in Neufahrn and Ergoldsbach (Lower Bavaria) and Teistungen (Thuringia). This means that ERLUS is one of the largest companies in the sector of ceramic roof tiles, chimney systems and ventilation networks that produce exclusively in Germany. ERLUS convinces with functional roof tiles in proper style that have repeatedly been awarded with renowned design prizes, among them “iF Design Award”, “Red Dot: Best of the Best Award” as well as “German Design Award”. In addition, constant new developments of the chimney systems are proof of the company’s innovative power. Via Vento S is a ventilation network offered by ERLUS for the comfort ventilation of single-family homes.
SAP S/4HANA at ERLUS Smooth system changeover, improved performance and new functions
With the system changeover to SAP S/4HANA, ERLUS has technologically further developed its existing ERP landscape and prepared it for requirements to come. Historical organizational structures, configurations and customer-specific developments remained unchanged here. For the employees in the user departments, the changeover went almost unnoticed. “Many employees did not notice at all that they are now working with a new system,” Torsten Wahode, IT manager at ERLUS, describes the current situation.
An important basis was the upstream readiness check. The check made by ERLUS and FIS included an analysis of the existing production system, the identification of necessary adjustments and an inspection of the financial data quality at an early stage. In this way, known errors could already be corrected before the actual migration and customer-specific developments were successfully adjusted to SAP S/4HANA.
Today, ERLUS benefits from considerably improved system performance and new functions. “Technologically, we have made a “huge jump” with the migration,” Wahode summarizes the result.
