Customer Centricity in B2B: FIS Group Develops Web Shop for Dachdecker-Einkauf Süd eG

As of late, the online presence of Dachdecker-Einkauf Süd eG (DE Süd) does not only offer an overview of the market-leading trader’s roof products to B2B customers, but has now also been complemented by a Web shop.

The creative development as well as the technical implementation based on the SAP Commerce On-Premise shop system were jointly undertaken by the two companies of the FIS Group – FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH and the Hamburg-based e-commerce agency Medienwerft.

 

DE Süd is known amongst craftsmen as a competent expert for all questions concerning roofs. As a leading trader in this business, DE Süd offers its customers a selection of more than one hundred thousand articles. So far, craftsmen could obtain product information on the specialized roofing materials trader’s website, but could not directly purchase them online. In order to fulfill the customers’ requirements and provide a better service, the website was intended to be enhanced by an online shop. “Omnichannel” is the keyword in this connection: With the new online shop, DE Süd complements its range of stationary products.

 

Tried and tested online platform functions such as craftsman registration have been complemented by the FIS Group by numerous ordering options. In doing so, the new Web shop has been provided with additional functions based on SAP Commerce: It was designed as an intuitive platform, where craftsmen can create shopping lists for construction sites, for instance.

 

Furthermore, the omnichannel idea once more plays an important role within the shop. Customers of DE Süd can view all their orders, inquiries, quotations and invoices in the online shop’s document management area - also for business done offline. Here, customers can directly turn quotations they have received from DE Süd into purchase orders.

 

However, not only the technical basis was of importance. Due to the comprehensive know-how within the FIS group of companies, the experts have ensured that the online shop was implemented in a brand-adequate manner. “With this unique mixture of technical know-how in the SAP area and creative, conceptional expertise, Medienwerft and FIS have won the race,” Oliver Wiese, IT of DE Süd, explains his choice of a suitable partner. As a consequence, the next project between the FIS Group and DE Süd is already on the starting blocks: the implementation of a marketing automation solution based on the SAP Marketing Cloud solution.
