700 New FIS/wws Users at Meesenburg

08/18/2017
FIS supports traditional North German technical wholesale company in managing the changeover to SAP and the FIS wholesale solution.

The Meesenburg Group has been rooted in Flensburg since 1758. Today, the wholesale company works for partners and customers from industry, trade and facility management as well as for building operators worldwide. For many years, Meesenburg used an ERP system with an extremely heterogeneous structure as it was increasingly adapted to individual needs in the course of time.

In order to achieve a modern standard concerning ERP, the company decided in favor of an SAP implementation in connection with the FIS/wws wholesale solution and the FIS/mpm SAP optimization for master data management maintenance. The essential project goal was to harmonize the extremely heterogeneously grown logistic structures on the basis of the standard processes in SAP ERP, FIS/wws and FIS/mpm. The successful go-live shows that the goal primarily set by FIS and Meesenburg was jointly achieved.

Since April, around 700 users have been working with the new combined solution. FIS/smw (small and medium-sized warehouses) is used to manage the five regional warehouses. This consultant solution makes it easier for Meesenburg to exploit the potentials in Warehouse Management. Paperless picking, different replenishment strategies or random storage are now practicable options for Meesenburg.

The company uses FIS/mpm for maintaining SAP master data and enables different customer views on master data via a Web user interface that, for instance, creates or expands customer or article data under workflow control.
